This alert applies to the following parks:

A planned commercial activity will occur along sections of the Purling Brook falls circuit walking track in Springbrook National Park from Monday 13 January to Wednesday 15 January 2025, inclusive, weather permitting.
As a result the following areas are temporarily closed to the public for the duration of the closure period:;
- The entire eastern section of the walking track circuit from the John Stacey suspension bridge at the bottom of the waterfall to the upper pedestrian causeway at the top of the waterfall, including the eastern lookout viewing platform (adjacent to the waterfall); and
- The entire Settlement Day Use Area, including access to Purling Brook falls.
Please note that Gwongorella picnic area remains open for picnicing and barbeques.
The main lookout west of Purling Brook falls also remains open for views of the waterfall, as does the western section of the walking track down to the base of the Purling Brook falls. Visitors must return in the same direction.
Great Walkers' will need find an alternative route should they wish to camp at the Settlement camping area.
Commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are not permitted to enter closed areas.
Due to the changed conditions the visitor experience may be affected.
Facilities will reopen when the event is completed.
Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers and do not enter closed areas.
