As of 11:00am Monday 3 February 2025, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) is investigating a credible saltwater crocodile sighting at the beachfront of Sarawak West camping area, Inskip Peninsula Recreation Area, within the Great Sandy Marine Park.
QPWS is requesting park users to stay out of the area while Rangers investigate the sighting as crocodiles are easily spooked. Rangers thank you for your cooperation.

Remember: crocodiles are highly mobile and the longer you take to report a sighting, the less likely it is that the crocodile will be located.
