A feral animal control program involving ground shooting will be conducted at southern Hook Island, Whitsunday Islands National Park from Monday 28th April to Friday 2nd May 2025 (dates inclusive). Curlew Beach campground will be closed for the duration of the operation and a maritime exclusion zone around southern Hook Island extends 200m seaward of the highwater mark. Access to the Ngaro Cultural Site, Nara Inlet will be closed between 8am and 3pm each day of the operation. Visitors may hear shooting on these dates and must remain well clear of the area.
