This alert applies to the following parks:

- Cape Melville National Park (CYPAL)Tropical North Queensland
Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will be conducting planned burns (weather permitting) from Sunday 1 June to Monday 30 June 2025 (dates inclusive) in the following parks, as part of the fire management program.
- Cape Melville National Park (CYPAL) (closed for wet season during this period)
- Rinyirru (Lakefield) National Park (CYPAL) (partially closed for wet season during this period)
- Lama Lama National Park (CYPAL)
Visitor facilities in the open sections of the parks above will not be impacted by these planned burns, but smoke may be seen in the surrounding areas.
Persons with respiratory or other health problems should seek medical advice on mitigating the effects of smoke inhalation.
