This alert applies to the following parks:
- Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great WalkSunshine Coast
- Mapleton National ParkSunshine Coast
Following severe weather events in February 2022, there has been significant damage to this area. Due to the changes to the area, QPWS are transitioning this campground from a ‘vehicle accessible’ to ‘walk-in’ facility. Campers will need to park their cars at the trailhead at Sam Kelly Road, then walk 1.2kms to access the camping area.
If you have a camping permit for this area, and do not have the ability to park and ‘walk-in’, then we would suggest you apply for a refund or credit.
Please monitor park alerts on the department's website for updated information.
