Please see below update on the status of visitor facilities within the Misty Mountains road and track network in Wooroonooran National Park:

Misty Mountains roads, walking tracks and camping areas that are open:

  • K-Tree Road
  • Cardwell Range track including access to Cannabullen Falls and Majors Mountain
  • Koolmoon Creek track network (except section of track from Walters Waterhole camping area to Elizabeth Grant Falls)
  • Cannabullen Creek track between Hinson Creek trailhead and Hinson Creek camping area
  • Hinson Creek camping area (accessible via Sutties Gap Road)
  • Walters Waterhole camping area
  • Koolmoon Creek camping area
  • South Johnstone camping area.

 

Misty Mountains roads, walking tracks and camping areas that are closed for the wet season (anticipated to reopen Saturday 28 June 2025):

  • Maple Creek Road  
  • Gorrell track 
  • Downey Creek camping area.

 

Walking tracks and camping areas that are currently closed due to access issues:

  • Carter Creek camping area
  • Cannabullen Creek camping area
  • Cochable Creek camping area
  • Cannabullen Creek track between Hinson Creek camping area and Cochable Creek camping area.
