This alert applies to the following park:

  • King Conservation ParkSunshine Coast

The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will be conducting planned burns in King Conservation Park from Tuesday 23 July through to Friday 27 September weather permitting, as part of the annual hazard reduction/conservation management program for parks and forests. As a result, smoke may be seen in the Palms, Fishermans Pocket and Glastonbury areas. The aim of these burns is to reduce the volume of forest fuels and to create a mosaic pattern of burnt and unburnt areas. This will help reduce the intensity of any subsequent wildfires and provide favourable conditions for natural forest regeneration.

Please monitor park alerts on the department's website for updated information.

Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers and do not enter closed areas.
