Lawn Hill Gorge section redevelopment closure

Lawn Hill Gorge experienced widespread flooding in 2023, resulting in extensive damage to visitor facilities and critical park infrastructure.

Significant remediation works are now underway. For your safety, the Lawn Hill Gorge section of Boodjamulla National Park (Aboriginal Land) remains closed to visitors to allow for the extensive flood recovery reconstruction and maintenance work to continue safely.

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and the Waanyi People look forward to welcoming you back to Lawn Hill Gorge in 2025, when it is safe to do so.

We appreciate your patience and apologise for any inconvenience.

For more information regarding the flood event, and the area's recovery, see: Boodjamulla flood recovery.
