Planned site rehabilitation and maintenance works in the Inskip Peninsula Recreation Area will commence Tuesday 1 October until Thursday 14 November 2024. As a result, the following camping areas will be closed during this period:

• Sarawak West 1-4 October 2024 (reopen midday 4 October)
• Sarawak West 7-11 October 2024 (reopen midday 11 October)
• Pelican Bay 1-4 October 2024 (reopen midday 4 October)
• Pelican Bay 7-11 October 2024 (reopen midday 11 October)
• M.V. Sarawak 4-14 November 2024 (reopen midday 14 November)

The closures exclude the King’s Birthday long weekend (4-7 October), with all camping areas open.

For your safety, visitors should observe all signs, barriers and directions from rangers and contractors during the maintenance works as large machinery may be operating in the area.

All permits for closed areas are suspended for the duration of the closure. Alternate camping areas are available at Inskip Peninsula camping area for the duration of the closures.

Apply for a camping permit refund online at www.qld.gov.au/camping. Log into your account and cancel your booking to receive an automatic refund or request to change your booking to another camping area at Inskip.
