This alert applies to the following park:

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service will be conducting planned burns (weather permitting) in the coming weeks as part of the fire management program for Mapleton National Park.

Firefighters and machinery may be working along roadsides around Cooloolabin Dam. For your safety and the safety of firefighters, please slow down and observe all directions and signs.

The mountain bike circuit and multi-user trail surrounding Cooloolabin Dam are closed during the planned burn.

Smoke may be seen in the vicinity of Buckby Road, Blackall Road and Cooloolabin Dam. Persons with respiratory or other health problems should seek medical advice on mitigating the effects of smoke inhalation.

Commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are not permitted to enter closed areas.

Please monitor park alerts on the department's website for updated information.

Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers and do not enter closed areas.

Facilities will reopen when conditions are considered safe.
