This alert applies to the following park:
- Mapleton National ParkSunshine Coast
As a result of severe weather damage, some areas in Mapleton National Park are closed until declared safe.
QPWS Rangers are managing the situation and have damage repair activities in progress.
Closed areas:
· Gheerulla Trail Bike Area - Two Way section linking Mapleton One Way circuit to Sam Kelly Road
All permits for closed areas are suspended for the duration of the closure.
Commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are not permitted to enter closed areas.
Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers and do not enter closed areas.
Due to the changed conditions the visitor experience may be affected.
Facilities will reopen when conditions are considered safe.
