This alert applies to the following parks:

- Blencoe Falls, Girringun National ParkTownsville; Tropical North Queensland
Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will be conducting planned burns (weather permitting) from Monday 12 May 2025 to Saturday 1 November 2025, as part of the fire management program for Girringun National Park.
Firefighters and machinery may be working along roadsides in the vicinity of the Bruce Highway at Fishers Creek, Conn Creek and Clarkson Creek.
Some burns will target ridges and hilltops with smoke visible on the upper ranges between Meunga Creek, north of Cardwell and Sunday Creek (north of Panjoo lookout).
For your safety and the safety of firefighters, please slow down and observe all directions and signs.
Persons with respiratory or other health problems should seek medical advice on mitigating the effects of smoke inhalation.
