Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will conduct a planned burn between Tuesday 17 June to Thursday 31 July 2025 as part of the annual prescribed burn program for parks and forests.
The aim of this burn is to reduce the threat of severe wildfires in periods of very high fire danger and help protect life, property and maintain a healthy forest environment.
Smoke may be seen in the vicinity of Cooroibah, Ringtail Creek, Cootharaba and Tewantin.
Persons with respirator or other health problems should seek medical advice on mitagating the effects of smoke inhalation. Smoke can decrease visibility on the roads, so it is important that motorists drive safely to the conditions.
During the planned burn the area will be closed to public access.
Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers and do not enter closed areas.
Stay up-to-date with Current bushfire warnings and incidents from Queensland Fire Department (QFD).
