Camping

Camping is not permitted in Eubenangee Swamp National Park.

Walking

A circuit track explores the forest and provides views of the swamp.

Swamp walk—1.5km return (30 minutes) Grade: Easy

The track follows the Alice River through rainforest before heading to the top of a grassy hill with views of the swamp. It then continues down the side of the hill and loops along the edge of the trees back to the forest track. The walk offers the opportunity to see a variety of resident and migratory bird species, depending on the time of year.

Viewing wildlife

The different vegetation types in the park attract a variety of birds. Resident and migratory waterbirds frequent the swamp areas while rainforest, woodland and grassland birds can be found in the remaining areas of the park. Estuarine crocodiles inhabit the Alice River and other wetland areas within Eubenangee Swamp National Park. Stay well away from the water’s edge and always Be Crocwise in croc country.
