    Getting there and getting around

Hasties Swamp National Park is 4km south of Atherton on the Atherton–Herberton Road. Turn left into Hastie Road and then right into Koci Road. The bird hide is 1.3km along this well-formed, gravel road.

    Wheelchair accessibility

The toilets and lower floor of the bird hide are wheelchair accessible.

    Staying safe

    • Protect yourself from the sun. Wear sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses and a long-sleeved shirt, even on cloudy days.
    • Native bats sometimes roost in the bird hide and leave thin black droppings on hand rails or bench seats. Please wash hands thoroughly if you come into contact with bat droppings, and do not disturb the bats if they are present.
    • Take care on the steps of the bird hide, especially in wet weather.

For more information, read the guidelines on safety in parks and forests.
