Cochable Creek camping area

Cochable Creek camping area is located on the bank of Cochable Creek. It is a trailhead for Koolmoon Creek track and Cannabullen Creek track—part of the Misty Mountains wilderness tracks.

Camping area features: the camping area is on the bank of Cochable Creek. It is a trailhead for Koolmoon Creek track and Cannabullen Creek track—part of the Misty Mountains wilderness tracks.

Location: 47km east of Tully via Tully Gorge Road.

Access: the camping area can be reached by 4WD or by foot. It is not accessible for caravans, campervans and motorhomes. Vehicles must be left in the parking area and gear must be carried a short distance of 50m to the camping and day-use area.

Number of sites: open area without separately defined sites.

Campsites are suitable for: walk-in camping and cycle-in camping—vehicles must be left in the parking area and gear must be carried a short distance of 50m to the camping area.

Campsite surface: grass.

Facilities: sheltered picnic tables and a hybrid toilet. Creek water is available but is not suitable for drinking.

Open fires: not permitted. Fuel stoves are recommended.

Generators: only generators that operate at or below 65dB(A) are permitted. Generators may be operated only between 8.00am and 7.00pm.

Essentials to bring: drinking water, food, rubbish bags, insect repellent and a fuel stove. Read more about before you visit.

Mobile phone coverage: not available. The nearest reliable phone reception is approximately 20 minutes drive out of the park near the Bore Pocket Road turn off.
