Camping and accommodation

Camping

Camping is not permitted at Yarraman State Forest.

Other accommodation

Accommodation is available in Yarraman and Nanango and at farm stays out of town. See the tourism information links below or consult the local telephone directory or the internet.

Picnic and day-use areas

Enjoy a picnic or barbecue under a shady tree at Rogers Park. Shelter sheds, toilets, picnic tables, water (treat before drinking) and wood barbecues are provided. Bring your own firewood or fuel stove.

Walking

There are no defined walking tracks in Yarraman State Forest, however walkers can use logging and service tracks.

For your safety, never walk on the road between Rogers Park and the D'Aguilar Highway. Entry into harvesting areas is not permitted. Obey all signs.

The piercing 'cheeong' calls of rufous whistlers resonate through the forest.

Viewing wildlife

Whether driving or picnicking, a great variety of birdlife can be seen within the towering hoop pine plantations and dense vine forests.

Other things to do

Registered four-wheel-drive vehicles and trail bikes, horses and bicycles may be driven or ridden on formed roads in this forest. A special permit is not required unless it is a commercial activity, an organised event or a competitive event.

Conditionally registered vehicles are not permitted. The driver or rider must also hold a valid licence to operate the vehicle. Motorised activities are restricted to formed roads only.

Entry into harvesting areas is not permitted. Obey all signs.
