This alert applies to the following parks:

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) and the Dulabed and Malanbarra Aboriginal Corporation (DMYAC) will be conducting planned burning in Gadgarra National Park from Wednesday 25 September 2024.

  • Burning will be conducted between Butchers and Toohey Creek. 
  • Access to Windin Falls and Bartle Frere will not be impacted by these operations.
  • Most fire activity is expected to self-extinguish each evening, however some fire may remain active and smoke visible for 2 to 3 days following ignition. QPWS will monitor fire activity until it is out.
  • Burns will continue in the area as conditions allow over coming weeks and months.
