Queensland National Parks Booking System Update

Enjoy a picnic or barbecue as you soak up the views. Study the signs at the stonewall lookout area to identify the various peaks of the well-known Glasshouse Mountains.
Gain an even better vantage point from the fire observation tower, and find out more here about the history and culture of the area.
Take a short stroll along the Glass House Mountains lookout track, which starts at one side of the day-use area and returns on the other side.
Capture that picture-perfect postcard shot as you photograph the panoramic views over the Glass House Mountains, Caloundra, Maroochydore, Moreton Island and Brisbane.
Getting there and getting around
Glass House Mountains lookout day-use area is in Beerburrum West State Forest on the Sunshine Coast.
The day-use area is on Glass House–Woodford Road. All access roads to the site are sealed and suitable for two-wheel drive vehicles.
- From the Bruce Highway, turn onto Steve Irwin Way.
- From Steve Irwin Way there are multiple routes to Old Gympie Road—from Beerburrum via the Beerburrum-Woodford Road; from Beerwah via the Kilcoy–Beerwah Road; or from just south of Glass House Mountains via Barrs and Marshs Roads.
- Turn off Old Gympie Road onto Glass House–Woodford Road and drive 2.7km to the day-use area.
Wheelchair access
Facilities suitable for people using wheelchairs (assistance may be required) include toilets and picnic tables. The lower lookout area and the display area around the fire tower are also accessible by concrete pathways.
