Murray Falls

Murray Falls camping area features a large, open, grassy camping area with shady trees. At night, fall asleep to the roar of the falls.

Getting there and getting around

From Cardwell, travel 21km north to Bilyana and turn west for 20km. See Getting to Murray Falls.

Before you visit

Camping area features

A large, open, grassy camping area with shady trees.

Location: At Murray Falls.

Access: The camping area can be reached by conventional vehicle.

Number of sites: Open area without separately defined sites.

Campsites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car, caravans, camper trailers, campervans, motor homes and large groups.

Campsite surface: Grass.

Facilities: Wheelchair-accessible toilets, cold shower, taps, picnic tables, rubbish bins, individual fire rings and wood barbecues (located in the day-use area).

Open fires: Allowed (except when fire bans apply) in fire rings only. Firewood is not provided and must not be collected from the national park.

Generators: Generators are permitted between 9am and 12pm (midday). Generators must only be operated at less than 65dB(A), when measured 7m from the generator.

Essentials to bring: Drinking water, rubbish bags, insect repellent, firewood, fuel stove. Read more about before you visit.

Mobile phone coverage: No mobile phone coverage available. The nearest reliable mobile phone service is 8.4km away at Murray River Upper State School.
