Camping on Juwun and Jambal walks

Changes to camping bookings

On-site self-registration is no longer available. Campers must obtain an e-camping permit and pay their camping fees before arriving at the camping area. Book your camping area:

Blencoe Falls camping area has toilets and water can be collected from Blencoe Creek (treat all water before drinking). Bush camping is permitted along the walk in the Herbert River Gorge between Blanket Creek and Orange Tree, by booking 'Herbert River Gorge camping zone'. Blanket Creek walkers' camp is an identified camp site. No facilities are provided.

Permits and fees

Camping in Girringun National Park and along the Wet Tropics Great Walk requires a camping permit and fees apply. A tag with your booking number must be displayed at your camp site.

Other accommodation

There is a range of holiday accommodation in surrounding towns. Hotel, motel, bed and breakfast, caravan park and holiday cottage accommodation is available at Ravenshoe. Hotel and motel accommodation can be found at Mount Garnet.

Park-specific conditions

  • Fires are not permitted along the Juwun and Jambal walks. Fuel stoves are recommended.
