Camping in Munga-Thirri
In the dry heart of Australia, Munga-Thirri National Park contains part of the world’s largest and youngest parallel sand dune deserts. This is Queensland’s largest national park.
Visitors must be well-equipped to cope with the harsh environment in Australia’s driest place. The QAA Line in Munga-Thirri National Park is very remote and help can be days away. It is critical that you are completely self-sufficient and prepared for all emergencies. It is vitally important that you read before you visit and staying safe.
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag or camping permit details must be displayed at your camp site.
Please camp with minimum impact and take all rubbish with you when you leave. Read more about looking after the park.
