Griffiths Creek camping area is a flat open grassy area sited about 100m from the creek bank. The Escarpment track walk has a trailhead at this camping area.

Camping area features: flat open grassy area, about 100m from the banks of Griffiths Creek.
Location: 2.4km south of The Barracks, on Tableland Road.

Access: conventional vehicles—in dry weather only—along Tableland Road via the park's northern entrance. If you plan to tow a trailer, camper trailer or small caravan, use a four-wheel drive vehicle to ensure your vehicle is suitable for towing on steep, loose gravel roads. You will need driving and towing skills for negotiating steep and narrow sections with loose gravel, steep drop-offs and blind corners. Limited turnaround options.
Tableland Road is not suitable for:
- any vehicles during wet conditions
- motorhomes and buses
- vehicles towing large caravans
- conventional vehicles (2WD) towing anything.
Access via Clewleys Gap Road is only suitable for high-clearance 4WD vehicles. Only high-clearance camper trailers are suited for towing by 4WD. Clewleys Gap Road is not suitable for:
- any vehicles during wet conditions
- any vehicles towing caravans
- motorhomes and buses
- conventional vehicles.

Camp sites are suitable for: tent and camper trailer camping beside your vehicle; small caravans and campervans. Suitable for larger groups.

Facilities: none. Use good camp hygiene. Bring a portable toilet to minimise pollution in this area—dispose of toilet waste appropriately in the camping area dump facility point. See Camp with care. The nearest toilets are located at the Kroombit Tops lookout.
Open fires:
- Permitted in designated fireplace provided except when fire bans or prohibitions apply. Keep campfires small.
- Bring your own firewood: use clean, untreated, milled timber off-cuts. It is illegal to collect firewood from parks or forests.
- Fuel stoves are recommended.
- Use water to put out fires when you are not in attendance. Do not use sand—embers stay extremely hot for many hours under sand.

Generators: not permitted.
Essentials to bring: drinking water; strong sealable containers or rubbish bags to store your food and your rubbish (to take it out of the park when you leave); portable toilet; toilet trowel/shovel (for use if toileting away from your portable toilet); insect repellent; clean-milled timber for firewood. Mobile phone coverage: not available. Nearest phone reception for emergency Triple Zero (000) calls is 3km north of Griffiths Creek camping area (600m north of the Ranger barracks) on Tableland Road. Another, more reliable phone reception point, is 11km south of the camping area at Kroombit Tops lookout (on Tableland Road). As you drive, look for roadside signs that identify emergency reception points.
