Relax over a quiet picnic at one of the Bunya Mountains' many grassland 'balds' surrounded by forest with views over distant plains to the west.
Birdwatch from the forest edge. Look for the park's three species of fairy-wrens—variegated, red-backed and superb blue. You may also see red-browed finches, double-barred finches and grey fantails flitting in and out of foliage. Look for brown quail and several varieties of skink in areas of thick tussocky grass.
After your picnic, head off on one of the walks that start from Westcott, such as Paradise to Westcott track, Koondaii circuit and Westcott to Cherry Plain track.
