Perhaps the most popular walk on the mountain, this track which starts from the Dandabah picnic area wanders through splendid bunya pine forest and a variety of mountain scenery. Discover delightful rock pools as the track passes by Festoon and Tim Shea falls. Gaze at a towering strangler fig and soak up stunning panoramic views of the valleys and hills of South Burnett from Pine Gorge lookout.
Look for green catbirds, paradise rifle-birds and red-legged pademelons. Peek in rock pools for the huge tadpoles of great barred frogs, and try to spot rare sooty owls, which sometimes roost in the hollow of the giant fig tree straddling the boardwalk.
If time is short, walk in an anti-clockwise direction and turn back at either Festoon Falls or Pine Gorge lookout.
