Camping in Conondale

The Booloumba Creek Road access includes creek crossings that are accessible by high clearance four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicles only.

There are three camping areas at Booloumba Creek. Grassy camp sites are located in open forest settings close to mountain streams.

Booloumba Creek camping areas 1 and 3 are nestled in luxuriant rainforest and open forest. They are high clearance four-wheel-drive accessible only. Vehicle parking spaces are provided beside the road adjoining the campsites—expect to carry your camping gear a short distance. Wheelchair-accessible toilets are provided—assistance may be required to negotiate grassed areas.

Camping area 1 has sites suitable for tents, campervans and camper trailers, and has one person with a disability (PWD) camp site.

Camping area 3 is for tents only, campervans, caravans or camper trailers are not allowed in this area.

Booloumba Creek camping area 4 is in a grassy open forest and has sites suitable for tents, large groups. It is accessible by high clearance four-wheel drives towing off-road caravans and camper trailers, and high clearance four-wheel-drive campervans.

Nearby Imbil State Forest’s Charlie Moreland camping area, on Sunday Creek Road, is accessible by conventional two-wheel-drive vehicles.

There are three remote overnight walkers’ camps located along the Conondale Range Great Walk.

Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your camp site.

Park-specific conditions

• Rubbish bins are not provided in Conondale National Park. Take all your rubbish out of the park for appropriate disposal. The nearest refuse transfer station is at the Kenilworth Transfer Station at end of Cambroon Lane, 1km north of Kenilworth township, off the Kenilworth–Brooloo Road.
• Sites must be vacated by 12pm on day of departure.
• Please consider others. Keep noise to a minimum, especially after 9pm.
