Visitors need to book their camping permit before they visit. Book online, at an over-the-counter booking office or by phone.
Camping area features: camp beside Broken River, where you may be able to spot a platypus.
Location: By foot: 10km one way from Pine Gove. By road: 600m from Broken River day-use area, which is about 5km from Eungella township.
Access: walk-in, Mackay Highlands Great Walk campsite or conventional vehicle.
Number of sites: 2 sites. Maximum 4 people per site.
Camp sites are suitable for: tent camping.
Camp site surface: dirt.
Facilities: hybrid toilet in camping area. Nearby day-use area has toilet facilities, parking, information centre, picnic tables and gas barbecues. All water must be treated before human consumption.
Open fires: allowed in fire rings only (except when fire bans apply). Fuel stoves are recommended. Bring your own clean milled timber. For up to date fire ban information, visit fire.qld.gov.au.
Generators: not allowed.
Essentials to bring: all food and drinking water, sturdy rubbish bags, insect repellent, sun protection, first-aid kit and reliable torch. Read more about before you visit.
Mobile phone coverage: not available. Nearest reception is at Sky Window day-use area and Eungella.
