Delight in the oasis that is Lawn Hill Gorge—a lushly vegetated gorge and spring-fed creek in the midst of dry savanna landscape. The national park is very popular during Queensland school holidays and peak season (April to October) so ensure you book well in advance.
Your days will be busy. Explore the gorge and surrounding landscapes on one of the park’s many walking tracks. Watch a spectacular variety of birds nesting and feeding around the vegetation fringing the creek. Glide your canoe through the still waters of the gorge or refresh with a swim in the creek. Falls asleep under the starry outback skies and wish you never had to leave.
