Park improvements in progress
Bunya Mountains National Park is receiving a $6.45 million upgrade to visitor facilities at Dandabah. This includes upgraded parking, picnic and toilet facilities and a new visitor information building in the picnic area. The camping area will be levelled and landscaped. Accessibility has been an integral part of planning to make Dandabah more inclusive for all, including along new and improved pathways.
The project has been carefully designed to ensure thatno bunya trees will be removed during construction.
Construction is expected to take place from April 2025 to December 2025 (weather permitting).
During construction:
- Some areas will be closed for safety reasons.
- Walking tracks will remain open when safe to do so.
- The Paradise car park will be open and provides access to all eastern rainforest tracks.
- Commercial facilities will remain open.
- Please check qld/gov.au/ParkAlerts for closure updates.
