Conical Island’s small size together with its stunning views make it an intimate camping destination. A small sandy beach on the southern side complements the rugged, rocky platforms on the more exposed northern and western sides.

Camping area features: Conical Island’s small size together with its stunning views make it an intimate camping destination. A small sandy beach on the southern side complements the rugged, rocky platforms on the more exposed northern and western sides. Large coral bommies to the island's west are within easy snorkelling distance from the beach.
Location: Conical Island is 3km north-west of Great Keppel Island.
Access: the camping area can be reached by boat only.
Number of sites: 1 site only with a maximum of 6 people.
Camp sites are suitable for: tent camping only.
Camp site surface: sand.
Facilities: picnic tables.
Fires: Prohibited (open and closed). Gas or liquid fuelled stoves for cooking purposes are permitted.
Generators: not permitted.
Essentials to bring: all food and drinking water, sturdy rubbish bags, insect repellent, sun protection, first aid, reliable torch. Read more about before you visit.
Mobile phone coverage: mobile coverage generally reliable. VHF marine radios and satellite phones are recommended.
