Camping area features: Middle Island has three separate camping areas, each located at one of the island’s three beaches. Camp sites are behind the fore dunes and give easy access to swimming, snorkeling and diving. A Marine park 'green zone' prohibits fishing and collecting around Middle Island, hence the area’s abundance of marine life.
Location: Middle Island is 11km east of Rosslyn Bay Harbour.
Access: the camping area can be reached by boat only.
Number of sites: 3 undefined areas with groups limited to 6 people at each site.
Camp sites are suitable for: tent camping only.
Camp site surface: sand.
Facilities: picnic tables.
Fires: Prohibited (open and closed). Gas or liquid fuelled stoves for cooking purposes are permitted.
Generators: not permitted.
Essentials to bring: all food and drinking water, sturdy rubbish bags, insect repellent, sun protection, first aid, reliable torch. Read more about before you visit.
Mobile phone coverage: mobile coverage generally reliable, VHF marine radios and satellite phones are recommended.
