1. Before making your camping permit booking, make sure you do your research.

Note: there are 3 types of camping areas across Queensland’s parks and forests. Numbered, un-numbered and open camping areas.

  1. Numbered camping areas: pre-allocated sites, physically numbered and can be pre-booked.
  2. Un-numbered camping areas: defined sites that are not numbered. Specific sites and locations cannot be pre-booked and are chosen on first come basis.
  3. Open camping areas: large open area. Can setup camp anywhere within designated perimeter.

2. Once you’ve decided where you’d like to camp, visit www.qld.gov.au/camping to make your booking.

All camping areas are displayed on the ‘camping’ landing page.

Note: While it is now possible to make a booking without logging into an account, we recommend logging in for ease of access to modify and view your permits. See log in to your account for further instructions on how to access an existing account.
