If you’re an experienced off-track walker with specialist equipment and well-developed navigational skills, then the walk to this remote camping zone is for you.
Drop your pack, pitch your tent and take in the views before daylight fades. See if you can spot the distinctive zigzag markings on nearby trees made by red-triangle slugs—Australia’s largest slug.
Enjoy a challenging 248m climb to the Mount Huntley summit, adventure into spectacular gullies, camp amongst eucalypts and grasstrees on the crest of a knoll, perch on a heathland forested ridge, surrounded by sweeping views, or camp under a forest of towering hoop pines for a tranquil and still night.
This park is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area, famed for its ongoing geological processes, evolutionary history, and diversity (especially of rare, threatened and endemic species).
